Neurodiverse Nature Navigators

Inafamaolek.us aims to build a community of youth warrior leaders rooted in their Chamoru and mixed heritage identities. We encourage their own leadership choices and offer support for their academic, social, physical and mental health needs. Our goal is optimal health and academic achievement for each and every youth while allowing them to create connections with other Chamorus in the Bay Area. Our ultimate goal is to create a community of confident youth who are aware of the beauty of their own Chamoru culture.

We are rooted in Chamoru stories, practices and concepts, teaching language when we can at fun and challenging activities throughout the Bay Area.  We also understand the importance of becoming stewards of our environment, so students have opportunities to take care and appreciate the land they are on, as well as their ancestral land of the Marianas. We are looking forward to meeting all youth and supporting their positive relationship with nature, while cultivating a sense of belonging in community with love and knowledge of self.

The goal of Neurodiverse Nature Navigators is to gather Chamoru Bay Area youth monthly at a local park for play, where they can learn cultural practices and some language. We want youth to build life long and practical skills by contributing their voices to the Inafamaolek.us Board of Directors; participating in leadership opportunities is community and celebrates the unique gifts each child possesses.
