Leadership:

She continues her efforts to ensure inclusion of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders as a CHamoru Cultural Advisor to countless community groups, projects and NHPI initiatives across the Continental US to include her work with the SoCal Pacific Islander Community Response Team as the Community Engagement Lead and as the Pacific Islander Health Partnership’s Vice President. Heidi is also the Fafa'nå'gue to cultural groups including UnoHit (San Diego, CA), Håle’ Para Agupa’ (Maryland), Ta HITA (Texas), and many other guma’ siha ginen sanlågu (cultural houses abroad).

Legacy:

Heidi’s involvement and efforts to preserve Pacific Islander heritages stem from her tenured Executive Directorship with the award-winning Kutturan CHamoru Foundation (KCF), a tuition-free 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Long Beach, CA since 1993. Heidi is the 1st Pacific Islander to receive the California Arts Council Artist-In-Residence from 2000-2002 and was bestowed the title of Fafa’någue (Certified CHamoru cultural instructor) in 2019 by the Inaugural Master of CHamoru Dance, Saina Frank Rabon of Taotao Tåno’, Guam.
