The Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity at Stanford University is currently seeking a Student Services Officer to assist the CCSRE Academic Programs team in administering five dynamic undergraduate programs:


Asian American Studies

Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies

Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity

Jewish Studies

Native American Studies

The Student Services Officer works with over 100 undergraduate majors/minors and 30 PhD Minors enrolled in CCSRE programs. In addition to advising and supporting current majors and minors, the SSO supervises a team of undergraduate student employees and coordinates student events, programs, and publicity campaigns. The SSO works directly with faculty, staff, and lecturers across all five of the Center’s interdisciplinary programs to ensure courses are accurately listed and updated in accordance with the needs of the faculty director and instructor of record. As the CCSRE staff member who works directly with every major and minor on their academic plan, the SSO holds crucial knowledge about student needs and serves as a thought partner to the Faculty Director and Associate Director of Academic Programs in supporting the design and implementation of a student-centered CCSRE curriculum.


Ideal candidates will have a passion for student advising, accessibility, and racial justice. A Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience, are required.
