The Mantieni i Fino’-ta…Rihikohen 2025 (Hold on to Our Language…Assessment 2025) project goal is to develop, administer, aggregate and report a comprehensive CHamoru Language Vitality Assessment that aligns with the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Language Endangerment Framework’s nine (9) Major Evaluative Factors of Language Vitality.

Sponsored by Chief Hurao Academy, Inc., whose community vision is to lead CHamoru revitalization efforts so that current and future generations will preserve, embrace, know, practice and sustain our ancestral language, values and traditions.

Coordinators will produce a comprehensive report on the health and vitality of the CHamoru language based on the data gathered.
